Hi all, I am currently waiting for a rheumatology appointment as they want to look into autoimmune disorder. Apart from lots of other symptoms I have constant swelling and pain in my arms, the swelling stops for a few days and then I might do something like hoovering and the swelling returns along with the pain. I have fibromyalgia too and a lot of symptoms have been put down to this but I've never suffered from swelling for no apparent reason before. Is this something connected to Lupus? TIA x

I was diagnosed in 2008 and the reason I went to my GP was because my arm had swollen up like a balloon - she took one look at it and referred me to a rheumatologist and he immediately began testing for Lupus.

Hi suzannejayne ,
Lupus and other autoimmune conditions tend to cause inflammation throughout the body which can cause heat, redness and swelling as observable symptoms, so it is possible that it could be the cause for this.
