I'm sorry you feel so low. You must see your doctor or find some other support - do you have a psychiatric support team?

If you are in the UK (and since you mention PIP I assume you are) do call the Samaritans

samaritans.org/

samaritans.org/how-we-can-h...

They will talk to you and help you get this into perspective - please do call them.

I can't add much more to Pro's advice. If you have a CPN, go to him/her for help. If you don't at the moment, try to ask your GP or psychiatrist if you can be referred to your community mental health services. I've had a great deal of help from CPNs, including getting me the right help I needed for PIP

And here is a hug from me ❤️

What is CPNS

A community psychiatric nurse. They come to your home if you are feeling very low. That can be everyday when you are feeling right at the bottom of your world. They check on you, chat, see what can be done to help - they can't prescribe, but if your meds aren't helping, they can arrange for different kinds. At other times they may come every week or month - it really depends on how you are doing.

I didn't have a CPN for a long time. Now they have helped me through a lot: even supporting me in how I feel about the physical problems.

You have been given some really sound advice. I would urge you to contact your gp that can put in some extra support for you as already suggested. There are a lot of services out there that can help you feel less isolated, help with finances and PIP etc. You aren't alone, use the samaritans in the mean time. Some lovely people at the end of the phone who listen if you just need to chat and feeling like you are.

Take care of yourself, thinking about you anyway

Hi Betty, I know how you feel. I've struggled with depression since childhood. It comes and goes, whenever it wants. I know how it feels to be afraid of being alone with the horrible thoughts. What sometimes works for me is reading self help books. NLP is interesting sometimes. Books that teach how to communicate and be successful in a business position. Sometimes reading books about other people's experiences. It lets me escape into their world for a little while. I know this advise won't fix everything for you, but maybe it could help when you're alone. I began thinking of my body as another being, seperate from myself. A being that needed to be taken care of. I started taking better care of myself with that way of thinking. Like you're watching yourself from outside. I became more observant that way, and actually began to like myself after a while. I was able to sleep finally. We can become stronger than these horrible things that we have to deal with. It's hard, but I wish you the very best.

Hi Betty1975,

Have you discussed your feelings with your GP or consultant?

Discussing your feelings with your doctor allows for him/her to provide you with a variety of support.

If you are currently feeling overwhelmed and stressed you may like to speak to someone; we have local LUPUS UK contacts that cannot give medical advice but are there as a listening ear to offer support and advice over the telephone. These contacts mostly have lupus themselves and are volunteers. If you would like more information on having a local contact to speak to, as well as information on support group meetings you can email me at chanpreet@lupusuk.org.uk

Also, using an online sociable forum such as this one gives you the opportunity to connect with other people who have lupus and can help relieve the worries you may have by hearing other peoples’ experiences. We published a factsheet that contains services and support helplines which may be of interest to you: lupusuk.org.uk/wp-content/u...

If you would like literature regarding how to appeal against a PIP outcome, you can contact me via email.

Please keep us updated, wishing you all the best.

Keep track with your doctor. Also, it is always a great help if you pray. Especially when we are down, Only God can lift us up. Maybe you are just so stress. Keep safe always.
