Lupus and your brain
Not been diagnosed but I hallucinate. I see, hear and smell things that aren't there
You could be clairvoyant, etc. It may not be hallucinating. I have had the same and many mediums and those in the spiritual churches experience this. Some doctors understand this and others don't. I was always careful who I told that I experience this. Sometimes I have found it extremely useful for instance, I smelled lavender and then I muscle tested lavender oil in the shop and now I am using it on my bad nails. It seems to be relieving the inflammation.
Ah no. I only see, hear and smell familiar things and people. My children, for example
Hi Suecon,
I am a 57 year old male with SLE. I have very similar feelings. It's almost as if time stands still for a few moments. I hear conversations from my past and can also smell things and hear background noises. It's almost as if I have been placed into a film or tv show on repeat.
The worst part is the tingling sensations or sometimes numbness I get usually in my hands and the feelings that I could actually pass out.
I actually made a post about this recently. You can find it here. healthunlocked.com/lupusuk/... I wish you clarity!
Yes. Sometimes i cannot process what I am looking at. My senses of smell is bizarre. I use to get vegus nerve pain shoot up the side of my neck to the top of my head that was incredibly scary and painful. Chiropractor every week for a year stopped that. Still have to watch where i put things away. Put in wrong spot a lot, almost dyslexic.
Yes I get headaches when I'm over tired. I get "brain fog" and have a bad memory most of the time (possibly due to the fatigue I get). I also developed mental health problems following Lupus diagnosis ... probably a symptom due to Lupus for me, as I can get hypomania psychosis. However I also can get depression and allthough I think that was a result of coming to terms with having Lupus, it's limitations etc, one Dr thinks I may have bipolar tendancies, and a lot of people with lupus suffer with depression.
