Headache and dizziness after exercise

I went out for an early morning little bike ride. Only 4 miles. Trying to ride early to beat the heat of the day. As soon as I got off my bike, pounding headache, severe dizziness.

Does this happen to anyone? Drank a ton of water when I got back, my anti inflammtory turmeric/ginger tea. More water. Still headache.

Took a nap. Moved from the front of my head to the back, and now my shoulders are tight and some pain. Tension headaches? Dehyydration?

No matter how much water I drink, it seems to come right out. Like my body doesnt absorb it.

Afraid to exercise again. I havent ridden all winter. This is only my 2nd time back on the bike. I had very weak muscles riding and had to push myself. Maybe I need to start off slower. Maybe pushed myself too fast.

Make sure you eat before you ride. And have protein after to help repair your muscles. Plus hydrate and stretch.

You should also get cleared with your GP just to be on the safe side.

Good luck!

I am going to try and drink lots of water before i ride. I think its tension. My shoulders still hurt and tense. Ugh....modify....i think i am 30 and healthy in my head. My body says differently.

Maybe 4 miles was too much for a first ride after winter, might need to pace yourself a bit better. You did well to ride at all, I manage a 10-15min walk some days with my son, doubt I'd manage any more. I can tire myself going upstairs. The aches tend to be in my shoulders and it makes me feel unwell, a few mins rest and it passes so I agree with you, dont push yourself too hard :)

Chris...I too have trouble with stairs. 2 more years till my girls graduate from high school.. lookingfor a one story house. Still dont feel great after that ride. Lingering small headache. Achy shoulders. Just an overall unwell feeling. Ugh..

.Glad i cancelled Easter. My husband is working. I dont think I am up for mAking a big meal. Going to spend it quietly with my girls.

Natura - I can get up and down the stairs no problem but sometimes it just drains me...its ridiculous and at the moment I'm feeling the fatigue, so tired

I'd like a bungalow but I live with my son who had problems with anxiety, panic attacks and agoraphobia. He's partially sighted too and is reluctant to move. I've lived here for well over 35 years but its too much now, cant clean etc as well as I used to...very frustrating

Our easter will be quiet, just me and my son and he'll cook dinner :) My daughter has work commitments so cant make it, I wont see my grandchildren.

Hope you're feeling better now.

Thanks chris...I was feeling bad again today. Headache lessened. I went for a walk with my friend. Probably too far, as I am now fighting a sore throat and aches and pains. Eating veggies, apples, oranges and drinking water. I took an epsom salt bath which helped my head. I am going to drink some green tea to maybe get toxins out. I dont know what else I can do, i did not sleep well last night.

I am getting very anxious about starting a new full time job in a week. Hope I can find the strength. Need this job for health ins. Everyone keeps telling me I will be fine. Hope they are right. I am trying to believe it will all work out.

Thanks for caring.
