On biological infusions to help my arthritis caused by my Lupus and white blood cells keep dropping..

Hi all,

im on Abatacept 4weekly infusions at hospital to help as my lupus has attacked my joints aparently there is only a choice of a couple of the biological infusions as most of them can actually make luus worse.

It doesnt help lupus but helps the side affect inflamation only of the extreme joint pain . Since being on them im not in a wheelchair anymore and not even needing a stick but wondering if anyone else has had issues with white cell count dropping & neutrophil count too.

Was 1.5 then 1.3 so left my infusion late ( they were going to still go ahead at just half treatment !) i decided to wait for a few weeks until joints started giving me pain and my bloods came up to 2.2 and they decided to go ahead as normal as there was an improvement . Have been on this infusion for 5months now. ( Did try Rituximab but had a severe reaction and throat started closing off so changed to the new drug)

Anyone been through same sort of thing with white cell count with infusions as ive never had this issue really any info you can give me? As i havent met anyone at infusion clinic with lupus all mainly Rhuematoid arthritis.
