Please help - I am really worried.

About two years ago I had a lot abdominal pain and the blood test results for my liver were at 72 and should have been around 15. I had a scan but they could not see my liver Cleary as I have a high diaphragm and by chance they saw a lump in my gallbladder. They forgot about my liver issue and concentrated on gall bladed which has now been removed and the biopsy was all clear. I assumed everything else was okay but the past 4 weeks I have been having slight abdominal pains but what I am more concerned about is that I have been getting shooing pains in my legs and arms and also the back of my calves have been burning. In addition have been very tired and falling asleep in the day. I have been to the doctors for more blood tests and my folate is low but my liver reading is 79, which is very high, I don't drink alcohol or smoke. The shooting pains and burning sensation my not be related to the liver issue. She has not give me any indication what could be wrong but send me for another scan. what if it is something really bad and it has got worse over the two years? I am only 32 and have 4 kids and just want to be okay. Any thoughts would be really welcomed.

Hi mikecad21 ,

Do you have a diagnosis of lupus or are you concerned that lupus could be the cause of your problems? It is clearly important that the source of these symptoms is found and treated. Your doctor most likely need you to have the new scan before any other action can be taken, following this if they are unable to identify the problem it is important that you push for a referral to a consultant who can investigate further.

If you want more information about lupus and how it is diagnosed, you can request of download one of our free packs at lupusuk.org.uk/request-info...

Hi Mike.... my liver enyzmes were always normal. I had an incident in one of my bloodwork that they were high. Discomfort in my abdomen, bloat. I still have this discomfort. It seems to get aggravated anytime I eat cakes or cookies. When I eat clean and take digestive enzymes and probiotics, the body seems ok. (Hard to resist dessert). I am dairy and gluten free.

I take vit d, b12 daily.

Food is powerful. I try to eat clean whole foods. Beets especially help the liver. Good news....the liver can be repaired. I also heard sweet potato does wonders. I try to incorporate daily.

My liver enzymes went down with clean eating and supplements.

As the article below suggests, no over the counter medication, clean your environment in your home. Get rid of bleach, dont smoke. Limit or dont drink alcohol.

Start inplementing repair of your liver. I believe it can be done. I have seen it in my blood work. And i believe my liver was always a problem. I remember drinking and loving beet juice when I was a young girl.

Hope this helps. My mother had ulcerative colitis that lead to her liver failure. This was a long time ago. They knew half of what they know today.

I want to be around for my 2 daughters. I love them so much.
