Hands, knees and bumps a daisy...

Hi guys,

I'm in so much pain today, and today's affected part of the body is....my knees :( I feel like whatever/ if ever I get a diagnosis, my body is playing a really mean game show : guess which will be the most painful today! Sorry to be moaning and I'm throwing myself a pity party but over the counter ibuprofen is useless. I might as well be eating smarties. I'm absolutely knackered today and have just made me some toast but i can't be bothered to actually eat it. Feeling pretty low 🙁

I think I'll make a cuppa and try and have a nap - I can take more ibuprofen in an hour so hope springs.

Sorry to be a moaning bugger but I am really at the end of my tether.

Aw, that's rough. I've got no practical suggestions for this. Heat or cold packs help my knees sometimes, if only by taking my mind off the pain and onto thinking, "Oooo that's freezing/boiling" instead. But you're sure to have tried that already.

Enjoy your nap and tea if you can x

Hi Charlie,

I'm sorry to hear you're having a rough day.

I just put up a post because I'm in the same boat today and have had enough of it.

I have no practical advice as I don't know what to do about the pain I have either but I do find that jamming a big cushion or pillow under my leg up to the buttock so that the whole leg is elevated and the ankle hanging over it helps with pain in my leg. A hot water bottle or tiger balm gives some relief as whisperit said due to the sensation of hot and cold.

Try and eat because you need to keep your strength up and you don't want nausea on top of everything else.

Sending a hug and hoping you're feeling better soon x

Stomach protectors should be added now if taking NSAIDs regularly. A year on Ibuprofen with no stomach protection due to RA like joint pain has caused me long term gastritis - so this comes from the heart!

Resting up myself today from widespread tendinitis and a nasty bug starting to kick in. Paracetamol with codeine (and lactulose for me) is all I can cope with these days.

Thanks guys - had a bit of a snooze but can't settle. Will try the cushion thing - tried everything else.

Hope you all have a peaceful evening.

It's ok to say you're having a bad day. Better out than in!

Poor you and owe! Wandering nagging, intense pains are quite enough to get anyone's spirits down. It can be exhausting keeping track of them.

Are you able to tolerate some paracetamol as well as the ibuprofen? Maybe you're on both already? Sounds like you need something stronger. I'm no wooz but ended up on tramadol and oromorph last week for leg joint pains and swelling, so go badger your GP for an emergency pack of pain killers for those really bad days.

Headphones and a meditation app or some music if you're not too restless, or a good movie to distract. Lots of squidgy pillows or folded duvet to support the knee. Ibuprofen gel to rub in to your knee may help.

Or another rant on here to work your way through the crisis. We don't mind. Get well soon.
