Swollen face...

today I m seeing that my face has just got swollen.last 2days it was giving me pain near my ear...now my left side has got swollen.plzzz can anyone tell me what is this??does it lupus flare??I have already told my doctor about this but he seemed less interests about this.😞..i am totally depressed and my family also in a tension..but my face already swollen..I have heard that glandss get swoollen sometimes in lupus.so is it normal??or does it happen with any of u??plzz share your experience or tell me what I should do?? Need advice..

I think you should go back to doctor. It could be lots of reasons for your face to swell, from ear/tooth infection, an insect bite or something a bit more complicated. My glands at the back of my neck always swell when I'm tired, you say your depressed and tension in the family, even that in itself could be why your body is reacting. it is also possible to be an auto immune thing but only the medical profession can rule this out. Hope you find the answer soon. X

yes I will visit my doc today.bt he seemed lesss interested about everything..u know I feel warm in my chhek and ear always..I really Dnt know what is it??

Sometimes lupus causes angioedema (which is what you seem to be describing). When I had my lips and half my face swell suddenly, the hospital GP put me on Piriton every 4 hours AND Cetrizine 10 once a day (which is unusual).

I was unsure about taking both antihistamines at the same time, so I only took Piriton every 4 hours as per the packet and the swelling resolved within 3-4 days.

But ask your GP anyway, to make sure you're ok to take these, don't rely on me as I'm not a doctor.

I find that autoimmunity often causes a heightened histamine response in the blood stream.
