WBC keeps getting lower and lower

Hi everyone!

I'm so anxious to get into see my rhumatologist this Thursday. I haven't been diagnosed yet but my pcp thinks I am displaying symptoms. Just out of curiosity, in July my WBC was exactly the lowest it could be. Fast forward 2 months later and my WBC has dropped below normal. Is this also a sign of lupus?

Wishing u all the best of health! xo

Hi there,

Good luck with your rheumatology appointment, let us know how you get on.

The medical term for white blood cells is “leukocytes.” A lower than normal level of WBCs is called leukopenia. Leukopenia is one of the problems that can happen in SLE and is one of the classification criteria for diagnosing lupus.

Should you get a lupus diagnosis you might want to request an information pack on the condition on our website lupusuk.org.uk/request-info... . We also publish various leaflets on the condition lupusuk.org.uk/publications/
