Hi everyone;

I had a little time for me today, at the lupus research center they gave me a voucher for a free spa pedicure. Foot massage (suppose help headache and BP?) everything complete. Yes, it even included nail polish. I told them I wanted a color as close to natural as possible. (I don't think a normal guy would look good with red or hot pink nail polish on his toes, or fingers either, as far as that goes).

As I have to go barefoot all the time, I want my nails to look natural and not painted. Do y'all think this looks natural, or do I need to remove the polish?

Thoughts and or comments?

Your feet look great, you have reminded me of something I did a few years ago.

I was getting up for an early shift one summer morning and my husband was snoring away with one foot sticking out from under the duvet.

I had a bottle of bright pink nail Polish by the bed, so I just painted his big toe nail, and left for work.

I didn't know that he had promised to take our daughters swimming that morning, or I would have painted all is toenails.

He didn't notice his pink nail until Jess said, "daddy have you been trying mums nail polish on?" 😂😂😂

To me the polish they put on has a pink tint to it? It is alsmost as if the pink tint changes with the light?

I don't mind if my nails have polish if it looks natural, because it covers up the dark spots in the nail bed of some toes cause by lupus. I don't want it to look gay. (Know what I mean)?

I went in the nail spa barefoot as usual. There was a lady getting a pedicure, she ask if I went barefoot a lot. I explained that I had been barefoot for 2 years due to lupus. He response was 👣I wish I could go barefoot and not have to worry about shoes. I hate wearing shoes👣 She then commended me that if I have to go barefoot, at least I keep them looking neat.

Soooooooo I guess the polish stays.

Your feet do look very neat, I think a nail polish is a good idea as it will make your nails a little stronger and protect them from knocks and bumps.

I to wish I could go bare foot, but it's not practical in cold wet Cardiff.

Shoes cause me a lot of discomfort, and that's just the ugly ones, if I wear anything stylish, I just can't walk.

I think Paul has just about forgiven me now for his embarrassing day at the swimming pool, and our daughter Jess is now 27!

I can't wear flip flops because, they will rub the rash/blisters on my right foot and it will start bleeding in just a minute or so.

Fortunately I live in Alabama and the weather is still warm here, and usually not an issue even in the middle of the winter. Last Christmas Day it was in the mid 80's here. So going barefoot is not an issue.

I don't have good looking nails on hand or feet but, having to go barefoot I try to keep them looking neat and clean.

I do like the pedicures the soaking and the massages feel very good.

I have several friends up your way. They live in Ohio and Michigan in the Toledo area. My wife and I qhave been up there several times. However, you may live a lot further north than that. For me it is a 12 hour drive up there. I stay in touch with them 2 to 3 time a week.

Thank you! I did have a lady yesterday tell me, (not sure how to take this) she wished her toes would look like mine. She said I had sexy looking feet?she also said she goes barefoot as much as she can and if, she could she would never wear shoes. She said I was lucky?

I'll admit I do like going barefoot but, not for the reason I have to.

Thank you but, I think I will refrain from the bright colors! Bright red, standout pink, glittery gold, Easter egg blue, tractor green, etc. I think that would be a little much! LOL!

I'll try and keep my nails not as bright and shiny as Laura's.

However, on the lighter side we might could try and go as matching nail color. LOL! (Not so sure she would be happy)!

looks great, I treated myself to a manicure and pedicure. My nails are beautiful, my hands not so much. I have the skin rash that hasn't gone away for a couple of years. Just got dx'd in Sept tho.

Thanks! I have had to go barefoot-foot for the last 2 years because, of rash/blisters on my right foot. So yes, I walk barefoot through the grass, rocks, dirt, cement, and even hot Alabama asphalt. The bottom of my feet are so tough now that it does not bother me to walk on any thing!

I also agree that going barefoot feels more natural, now I wouldn't wear shoes even if I could. I go every and do everything barefoot and yes, even into town shopping, doctors and church!

I get a lot of support and over the last 2 years only had 1 place to question me being barefoot. As soon as they saw my foot they apologized. Now all the stores around here are use to it.

So if you can I say go and stay barefoot!

I have a motto about lupus yes, it changed my life but;
