Red skin and fatigue from sitting in shade .......

Popped out for lunch with hubby.... I had on factor 50 and was sat under umbrella for half an hour.......... Became very fatigued, could hardly walk small distance home and arms went red like sunburn......as soon as I got in I had to lay down and nap?.... . Does this happen to anyone else

Hi yes it happens to me, I have been out today. My legs were flagging, legs throbbing, muscles really stiff everywhere and aching. No rash for me though, slept on the way home i was so tired.

Is it the allergy to sun/ uv?

I am not sure, I still haven't got a lupus diagnosis, but I know that the sun effects me and for some unknown reason I think sugar does aswell.

I've recommended this site a few times: Despite Lupus by Sara Gorman, She describes how being in the sun causes her lupus to flare - it is a very common problem. It isn't just that you burn in the sun.

Hi yes I am the same no rash but get very tired just sitting it puts me off even trying to go out but still have to make the effort or I would have no life at all.

I didn't even sit in the sun I just popped into garden,it gives me a headache feeling sick,I had to go to bed, my joints in my hands became swollen.

WOW it sounds similar to me, I wasn't in the sun, outside restaurant under sun umbrella (I know its not UV protective) but live in Gibraltar (british .... southern tip of Spain) I almost felt drunk-like walking home... so fatigued, sick, sore legs and fingers...... I guess its from the sun....... feel "hungover" today...... I don't drink, haven't had alcohol for nearly 3 years but this is how it feels

this happens to me quite a bit. the worst was a day trip out in the sun and within ten minutes I could not keep my eyes open and I just wanted to sleep. I really think it can drain you.
