3day urine collection..

Never done one before but having just finished I conclude ladies are not designed for such a test ha ha..

And to top it off I filled the bottle for the 24hrs in less than the 24hrs on the last bottle.. The other two were just borderline. I can only assume I have a high output because I drink so much water due to my mouth being dry/thirsty all the time.

Has anyone else done this test before? Was surprised they didn't ask me to measure what I was drinking too. But guessing they are checking electrolytes?

Yep I had to do all that and it really was a nightmare. I had to keep a diary of what I drank and ate although why was never explained and I had the same quantity problem.Phoned them up and said too much for container and they said didn't matter really so always wondered how accurate a test it is.Such a relief to get back to normal after as do drink a lot,Not alcohol i add, probably to do with sjogrens and radioactive damage to saliva glands.

After all that the follow up to test was that hmm about what they expected.

This was of course years ago before I became the lovely calm polite"explain everything to me or I am not leaving your room " sort of patient😉

Ah thank you. I've no idea what is being looked for in the test.. But imagine you can tell something from 3 days of urine..

Glad I wasn't the only one with the bottle overflow! I felt embarrassed dropping them off as they were full to the brim.. 

Well will update when I hear what happens to my bucket load of urine ha ha

There is one thing about coming on here is you will find that even the most bizarre events ,tests or symptoms have probably already been experienced by some forum member.

Hope the results are good or at least worth all the effort

I had to do this test for cushing disease what a hassle that test was !! hope you get results soon !

This is also done as part of a Bence Jones test - testing for very rare Multiple Myeloma - but hopefully it isn't this for you - or if it is then it's normal.
