Are you having pain in your joints? For that there is always an warm bath in Epsom salts. You can take two Otc ibuprofen (400 mg) and a acetaminophen according to one of my old rheumies. If it's chest pain you may need to go to the emergency room. There are many places you can hurt with lupus. Joints are generally not an emergency, other pains could be like chest pain.

I hope you feel better soon.

Oh yes thank you appreciate it that.  I tried the warm baths as well.

naproxen   damages your liver  because it   builds up in the  liver

Can you cite your sources please. I don't think comments like this are helpful when people are trying to get some help and advice on pain relief.

Keep strong and ask the GP to subscribe you celebrex. webmd.com/drugs/2/drug-1684...

It is a stronger NSAID especially for rheumatic pains and it hasn't the bad side effects on your stomach as other NSAIDs have.

Good luck!

Interesting! I will look it up immediately.

I have used it for three months continuously and haven't experienced any side effects.

All NSAIDS can increase your risk of cardiac events but much depends on your underlying risk factors. The risk increases with long term, high dose use. Naproxen is the safest heart wise but carries a higher risk of GI bleeding.

joint  pain   you need glucosamine and  chondroitin      they can be bought    already   combined in one  bottle  over the  counter   these  products     reduce swelling  caused  by   acid   unbalance in   our bodies  that lead to inflamation.   they  also  repair   cartilage  at the same time    in your  joints

Please speak with your doctor before starting any dietary supplement. Interactions with treatments and potential effects on your condition(s) need to be considered first.

I have been taking NSAIDs for 40 years and so far my liver and heart are still intact. NSAIDs are usually the first line in inflammatory types of arthritis, since they reduce inflammation. Every drug has side effects, but these drugs wouldn't be given to us, if they hadn't been proven. Aspirin may have been with us since the beginning of time, since native Americans used willow bark that has a related substance in it. Glucosamine and condrotin are, to my knowledge, usually used in osteoarthritis and can cause allergies. I'm not sure how much good they would be for inflamed joints, but if they work for you Ruth, that's great.

Jo, since you are in India, perhaps you can get acetaminophen with codeine over the counter? I know it is available in some countries including Canada? I know that helps me when I'm really hurting. You could also try marijuana if it's available and you won't get arrested. I used to use it for nausea when nothing any doctor gave me helped, and some people use it for pain in the US where it's legal.

But I do hope you can get in touch with your doctor, since he can test your blood, really find out  your situation and hopefully get you feeling better.
