My daughter of 15 years old  suffers from lupus since the age of 12.  As a mother I support her a lot and never give up still fight for her health. I pray a lot any time even in the middle of the night. I give her empty stomach early morning half spoon of black seed or black seed oil also help. After hour I make a milk shake with milk a piece of fresh turmeric root carrot yolk egg and little honey which she has every morning. By grace of God all her test which was not good at all is now under control. Also apple cider in warm water helps a lot.

Feeling sorry that your daughter got this awful disease at such a young age. Thankfully she has you to take care of her.

If she has intestinal problems you might consider giving her a shake of physillum fibers (and right after that a glass of warm water) after her breakfast.

Also consider making her milkshake not with cowmilk but with plantbased milk. Cowmilk is an allergenic for many for us with autoimmune diseases.

Good luck and keep the spirits high!

Hi firdos,

If you consider giving your daughter Psyllium Fibres you must first tell her doctor or pharmacist if she is allergic it; or if she has any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.

Before using this medication, tell her doctor or pharmacist her medical history, especially of: stomach/intestinal blockage, difficulty swallowing, appendicitis or symptoms of appendicitis (such as nausea/vomiting, sudden or unexplained stomach/abdominal pain), a sudden change in bowel habits that lasts for longer than 2 weeks, bleeding from the rectum.

Add fresh garlic to the milkshake is not a bad idea.

Garlic is a no no for lupus. It activates the immune system and lupus needs to be damped down. Google it and see for yourself.

Hi firdos,

Welcome to the community. I'm pleased to hear that your daughter's lupus is now under control, that's great news. Is she on treatment for her lupus or are you just trying to control it through diet and lifestyle?

It's great that these dietary changes seem to have a positive effect for your daughter but please be aware that lupus is very varied and affects each person differently. What works for one person may not work for another or may be potentially harmful. Have you discussed these alternative therapies with your daughter's doctor? Whilst many of them are natural and claim to have no side effects, most can potentially interact with treatments and may have an impact on the body. For example, black seed can slow blood clotting and increase risk of bleeding and, as bestbuddy mentioned, garlic can boost the immune system, which is usually the opposite of what we want to achieve in controlling lupus.

She is on gluten free diet. No beef. Most of the time fish for meal. This is very hard for her when she finds her friend having a burger .

I have always been holistic as much as possible. But, with lupus...it doesn't follow any rules. I check with doctor about EVERYTHING I take. I also list any supplements with my medications. An example is turmeric supplements... They help some people..but if you have clotting issue..you may not be able to take them. Each of us is different.

When I get overwhelmed with all the conflicting information..I just remind myself to just stick with simple foods the way nature made them for us! That makes it easier. I wish you and your daughter all the best. Sounds like she has a wonderful, caring mom❤️

Thank you Sarah. A mother's support is the best healer. For the tumeric take it  fresh and hot before going to bed. This the best way to have it at night.
