I wonder after what I read on your website ... if I can be optimistic! Eventually those who have this disease ... facing all these serious problems or are there people who are so light symptoms not even need to take action; Please much if you know to answer me! Thanks !!!!!

Hi Freirene,

Lupus is incredibly variable and affects everybody differently. There are certainly some people that manage very well on minimal medication and some who can experience periods of remission where they are able to withdraw from medication completely with their doctor's help. There are of course many people with lupus who may experience more severe flares and struggle on a day to day basis. Unfortunately there is no telling what the future holds for an individual with lupus - it is a very unpredictable illness.

Thanks for the info! A professor rheumatologist told me that the moment has no symptoms for a year, will not face anything! I do not know whether to trust his opinion ... because the previous year had uveitis and had thrush in the mouth!
