Hydroxychloroquine and palpitations?

Does anyone have or believe they have heart palpitations from being on Hydroxychloroquine?

Been on it about a week or two now and have extra beats etc.

I've had this before Hydroxychloroquine . But this has been every day for about a week?

Hi JP, Sometimes you had feel like your heart is racing on hydroxychloroquine and you can sometimes feel a little shaky, these do however gradually reduce as your body adjusts to the medication, hydroxy normally takes about 6 months to fully start working. But i know what you mean you feel your hearts beating extra beats. If your starting to become concerned and it carries on for more than a few days the is no harm in asking your GP for some extra advise on it. It can reassure you always better to have them check it out to be on the safe side. I also get that feeling with my steroids not sure if you are taking steroids as well and your hydroxy. Thank you willow, yes I do feel a bit shaky sometimes. Ive spoke to GP and just had an ecg yesterday so they'll have a look. I'm at cardiologist anyway next month so if it persists I'll ask for a holter monitor to be safe x

Yes I do get palpitations and feel shaky but I also have heart meds for arrhythmia anyway so most things seem to set it off. Make sure you mention this to you Dr. Some side effect go, some are minor and worth it others need looking at.
