I take lyrics for fibromyalgia, it does take a couple of weeks to get into the system but has started to help me.

Only slight side effect for me is a slightly hung over feeling in morning, to overcome this take things really slowly if you can first thing.

Definitely worth a try though.

Maria,

I don't have Lupus, but a new friend does, on looking at Lupus sites to be as informed as I can, I found your questionand joined the Forum just to answer your question,

Firstly I take Lyrica (Pregabalin), along with Tegratol and Duloxetine, and 2 different Morphines,

I have taken Lyrics for over 2.5 year's, I am Terminally Ill twice, yeah lucky me LOL

I have a Neurological Condition due to poorly controlled Diabetes, and am expected to have just 3-6 month's left,

OK that's my Qualifications as such,

Let me tell you that I have Pain, excrutiating Pain 24/7.

And you see that just my Pain. Meds explain the levels

Taking Lyrics may seem a bit useless,

Well I can honestly say that the slight problems with Side Effects is well worth it for the Positive Benefits !

I Take at my discretion 50-100 mg in the morning, and 100-200 mg at night, my pains are far worse at night,

If for whatever reason I miss a dose, or I take too small a dose, my Pain is excrutiating, if however I keep up my maximum doses, my Pain has the edge taken off, sometimes considerably,

Yes I get very very drousy at tines, but that means at least I can get out of bed and have some semblance of a life, without it, I spend days not leaving my bed, but scream into. Agony,

You get the basic Idea, it's Not a cure, or a Miracle, it helps. ... for most people, but not all,

You should at least Try it if your Drs have prescribed it,

If you Drive Lots, or Work with Machinary, then Please be cautious, and discuss your concerns with you Specialists

I could NOT be without it,

Hi , thank you for your reply and I'll follow your advise and try the med ... I'm very sorry about your condition.. There's nothing I can say .. πŸ˜” .. Hope all your family and friends are around you to keep you strong and help you fighting the illness .

Lots of love

Maria 😊

Don't you worry about me, We are at Peace ( well mostly LOL ), You just get your Pain sorted, I thought about you, and prayed that you would find relief etc last night, Give it time, it will take a little time to build up your levels, and Take Regularly not just here and there, but please always with the advice of your Dr,

Take Car, and thanks for your Tenderness and Kindness

Hugs.

Hi Maria68, I have been an SLE patient for over 20yrs. My Lupus affected my kidney's and back in 2002 I was lucky enough to receive a kidney transplant. Shortly after I caught shingles and this has left me with chronic nerve pain on the left side of my torso. The pain is truly awful and to control it, one of the drugs I wouldn't be without is Lyrica. I take 300mg twice a day and at first I did feel a little 'woozy' and very tired, howevver these affects wore off after 10/14 days and since then they have worked well. I also take stronger opiate pain killers for when the pain is unbearable. I'm sure you will benefit from Lyrica, but it does take getting used to.

Hi Maria68

I have been on this drug for three or four years It has never completely cleared my pain, I started on 100mcg and at present on 150 mcg morning and night, it still is not effective. The Pain clinic doctor has suggested trying 100mcg of Lyrica morning and night adding 10mg Amitriptyline at night if the other was not effective, which I am about to try. Will let you know how it goes.

best wishes

Jean
