The Research House is conducting a nationwide study on lupus. In particular, they are looking to set up 30-minute training sessions and hour-long interviews with patients or carers of patients diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. During the session participants would meet with a couple of researchers, simulate use of an auto-injector and answer some questions about both the auto-injector and its instructional material. The participant will not be asked at any point to administer any medication or change any approach to taking any medication they might already be on. You would be simulating an injection from a prototype auto-injector that does not contain any active medication or a needle.

The interviews will take place in their London offices. Participants must be aged 22+ and not have any severe impairment. The researchers are seeking patients diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, half of whom will have experience injecting medication. In addition, they are seeking current caregivers for someone with lupus, half of whom will need experience injecting medication.

As a token of appreciation, they are offering the following incentives:

£75 per untrained patient/caregiver

£125 per trained patient

In addition, if you mention LUPUS UK when you speak to them, we will receive £50 for each participant that takes part in the study.

The researchers guarantee that this study will comply with all the relevant data protection and privacy laws and with the European Pharmaceutical Market Research Organisation’s Code of Conduct. The highest standards of professional conduct will be upheld in the collection and the recording of any information provided. Participants will remain anonymous and their responses will be treated as confidential at all times. No one will attempt to sell or promote any products during or following participation in this research.

If you would like to complete the screening test to take part in this study, please call Alana on 0207 487 9187 or email stella@research-house.co.uk

The fact that there are Lupies out there who could sustain an hour long conversation gives me hope. I can't cope with more than 10 minutes. :(
