I haven't checked for lupus, but I don't think I have it, my only symptoms that I have is constantly feeling like being drunk\stoned all the time and like blur vision and my doctors can't figure out why, that got me really depressed...

I'm searching all day for solutions in the web but I cant find nothing.

did blood tests came out ok, I'm not taking any medications or something.

please if someone can help\suggest something I will be happy.

Acantha....that is actually a good description of my bad days. In fact, I said once it feels like I had a glass of wine, but didn't. The brain fog is the hardest thing I have to deal with. I hope you get some help from someone who understands. Sorry...I believe most doctors know nothing about it. I am also low end lupus which could explain what you might be. The numbers are showing borderline maybe. I would also get a copy of blood work. I feel like some doctors say you're ok because you're within the parameters, but maybe borderline. Feel better...

That describes brain fog very nicely! I still have days like that but so much better since diagnosis/treatment. It was so bad once a neighbour collecting for the church thought I was drunk!

I would ask for a referral to Neurology. Has your gp done all the standard neurological tests with you?

Hi

What you describe sounds like brain fog which comes with a few things such as Lupus and CFS/ME. Is the blurred fission constant as I would agree with Sarah that maybe they should be doing more there. Do you have any headaches and what bloods did they take. Did they specify auto immune. I must admit they seem to be adding these a lot more to the blood requests than they used to as its now on the regular request form and doesn't have to be searched for. But if they didn't request the specific tests then what is ok your liver, kidneys, no anaemia?

Is your blood pressure ok? What other tests have you had? Thyroid? Do you suffer from silent migraines?

assuming it's brain fog, which doctor should I go to check it out ?

tested in neurological,ENT, no anemia, no silent migranes

To be honest no one has ever said YES you have Lupus brain Fog. I just know. Initially I had routine checks for my fatigue and they did an ECG, bloods and a Ct scan. Thank heavens all was ok on the ct and ECG.

I know I have fog and it gets worse if I push myself too far. It gets worse if I have a busy day at work or if I exert my self too much one day it'll turn up within the next one or two and its worse if I'm stressed or panicked.

It makes decision making impossible, comprehension is useless and I can speak total gobbledygook. It's embarrassing when a colleague asks a question and all I do is stutter away. Not like a true stutter but more like beginning of Alzheimer's.

So my answer is I don't know as long as you have had the neurological tests and the relevant blood tests I have no idea. I just keep going. Hopefully someone will be able to guide you.

Take care x

I have these feelings, as well as severe pain all over. Been diagnosed with fibro. May be worth exploring.

I've had these feelings before also. I also have Fibro. Not sure what caused it. Have you had your liver function checked? I have auto immune liver disease also, and it seemed to happen just before a flare.

Don't lose hope. Doctors took their time in getting my diagnosis. I hope you get help soon.

Yes I get this too! I thought maybe I need new glasses. It's horrible feeling isn't it? I'm clumsy on a good day and fell over a few weeks ago brusing ribs, knee and caused rotator cuff injury to shoulder joint. Have to be very carefull on stairs, getting on and off public transport etc. My spelling isn't what it was either. I think I have put the right word down but on review I haven't. People pay good money to feel as stoned as I do, yet I'm not, and I don't like it!

I woke up one morning and found myself intensely dizzy with vertigo and vomiting and as time progressed I noticed mental fog as well. Once I articulated that I felt drunk all the time, I began to search online for answers that two urgent cares and one ER hadn't given me. I was overwhelmed with the possible causes and terrified to read that some people were simply learning to live feeling this way. Finally I saw a doctor who nearly instantaneously knew what was afflicting me- benignl paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV). Please all your doctor if this could be it, many people experience this yet it is rarely diagnosed correctly. I felt such relief finally having a diagnosis and knowing that it can be cured I wanted to share with others who might be impacted by BPPV

vertigo is a fear of height's i have had since i was young,i do not see how you could wake up with this?

in reply to jen9

Vertigo is not a fear of heights. I have a fear of heights and I have also had vertigo attacks. They are quite different. When you have a full on vertigo attack it feels like you are in the final spin in a washing cycle and the nausea is unreal. I thought I was having a stroke the first time it happened. I was driving, turned my head to check my blind spot before I changed lanes and that was me. Had to pull over as best as I could. I could not sit up and collapsed to one side (which made me think I was having a stroke) and wait it out.

I don't want to frighten you,but i just lost a good friend to a brain tumor. She was diagnosed with another condition and in 2 years they never once sent her for any cancer scans. She had a tumor of the brain and lung cancer, sadly we lost her 2 months ago at a young age. She had all these symptoms and kept having headaches and falling asleep,no energy at all near the end, don't wait just go ask if it is a possibility. It is probably not what you have, but leave nothing to chance is how i now think. My husband has been wakening up feeling drunk and with bad heads, sleeping all day and night at times and i am worried. I will be dragging him to the doctors this week for tests,he is not fond of the doctors, think it's a man thing.

We do not drink at all,in fact only time we do is Christmas day, at home. he is not on any med's at all so finding this strange. I have noticed he has changed ,keeps swearing and is a bit digressive so i am wondering what is wrong.Look things up on here and see if anything fits how you feel then get some expert advice from your doctor.
