The ginger tea granules look like this. You can get from amazon or chinese shops. {\rtf1\ansi\ansicpg1252

Hi. I use about a square inch of peeled fresh ginger (thinly sliced) in a large mug of boiling water. It has brewed by the time it's cooled enough to drink. -add lemon sliced or squeezed and honey to taste. X

I've figured my system out over many years. It's basically like sjink's but in a medium teapot. One pot can last me at least a full day of sipping ginger tea. It's v nice hot, warm or cold, and can be diluted like a squash. Personally, I do best on weak ginger tea. It helps me manage the chronic inflammation upper & lower GI symptoms I've been prone to all my life. My persistent nausea and trouble swallowing have especially responded to ginger tea. But this is only a lifestyle management tool, alongside my meds etc. and brewed too strong, ginger can give me headaches...as do ginger granules and other dried or processed forms of ginger. My body tells me when it needs ginger tea....when it doesn't need it, even the thought, let alone the smell, of ginger tea actually revolts me. For me, ginger tea is a very potent form of herbal anti inflammatory, requiring cautious preparation and use. And, generally, ginger is an important part of the anti inflammation diet & supplements regime I've been following for over 10 years.

My ginger tea system:

Get a 'hand' of fresh fingered ginger root (or a few pieces, if you're just starting and aren't sure if this will agree with you)

Tear off one finger & peel the thin skin

Thinly slice off 8-10 slices (keep any extra ginger finger in a glass jar in the fridge for the next day)

Heat a medium tea pot. Pour off the heating water. Put the ginger slices in & fill pot with hot water. Leave to brew for 15-20 minutes

Pour your first mug and top the pot up with hot water

I continue to pour mugs of tea all day this way, topping up the pot each time, and even adding water to the tea in the mug to dilute it to the weakness that works for me. At the end of the day, I decant any remaining tea into a jug and keep it in the fridge for the next day. I only keep this sort of tea for up to 48 hrs, though

The strong ginger tea is lovely diluted with sparkling water in warm weather

Some add honey & lemon, but that doesn't work for me

I keep any left over 'hand' of ginger root in my fruit bowl at room temperature...trying to use it all up before it begins to shrivel as it dries up

Enjoy! Benefit!
