Strange sweet taste for 6 months.

I have for the last 6 mths been getting a sweet taste in my mouth. It is getting worse feeling sick with it. I have SLE,FIBRO AND SS. I have had 3TIA had have had my taste and smell altered by these but this is another new thing. Has anyone else had this. I asked my gp and dentist but they didn't know. I see my Rhumie soon shall I mention it.

What meds are you on?.....I get a funny taste from steroids-I have had to start taking them again today, and can feel the funny taste coming back.

I am on steroids but have been for 20 yrs also a cocktail of others but nothing new. It's very odd and my gp just looked at me like I had lost the plot and it was no big deal. Thanks for replying. Is it common to have a taste with steroids then. Xx

Hi again....thanks for replying, I noticed the taste straight away, but have only had to take steroids orally on 2 different occasions - ( I have had a couple of injections too, and got a slight taste with those) but if you have been on them for 20 yrs and have only just started noticing the taste then I would say that this is something else, I would really keep an eye on it and mention it to your Rhuemy if I were you!!! It won't to hurt to mention it, and you never know, they just might know what has caused it. Good Luck and try to keep smilingxxx
