Referal to a lupus nurse
Hi Smurfette,
It's hard for someone else to answer this question, though in a way you have answered it yourself. Sjogrens can sometimes (not always) develop into lupus - and maybe your Rheumatologist thinks you would benefit from a conversation with the nurse?
Possibly because there are no Sjogrens nurses ???!!! As Maggie has pointed out, sjogrens and lupus can all be part of the same picture. My doctor described them as being along the same spectrum after telling me I had primary sjogrens and not the lupus that I'd previously been diagnosed with. I don't think this kind of disease fits conveniently into a little box. I would definitely take advantage of seeing the lupus nurse as she may well be ableto give you some good advice about dealing with your symptoms that the consultants are too busy to do.
Lupus nurse can answer your questions about all the lifestyle, and emotional issues that docs seem too busy to answer. Like how to deal with friends and family, how to deal with fatigue, worries about the future, etc.
Hi thanks for your msgs. Just got my blood test results! I am positive for SLE Lupus! Bloody shocked! Cant take it all in!
