Does it help inflammation and joint pain? I started taking turmeric supplements this week. I take 2,000 mg a day. Not noticing any relief, should I increase my dosage?

Thanks!

There has not been any scientific evidence regarding foods and supplements that are recommended. Of course, eating a healthy diet is important and necessary.

My advice to you is NEVER to take anything without informing your doctor.

Supplements, "health foods" etc are presented as if they can do no harm because they are "natural." This is not the case. For certain people, certain supplements can and do harm. For example, certain herbs recommended by Chinese herbalists can damage the kidney and dangerous to those with lupus nephritis. St John's Wort is also "natural" and a mild antidepressant, but if someone is already taking an antidepressant, can cause an overdose. Other products, which are not regulated within the pharmaceutical legislature, can interact with the medication we have been subscribed.
