Good morning

Just looking for some advice!! I have been diagnosed with Lupus for at least 15 years and so far have never wanted to take any medication as I am lucky enough to only suffer from fatigue and achy joints. However, the last two years have been worse than previous years and I seem to be getting more flares which for me are more severe fatigue and achy joints.

I see a rheumatologist at my local hospital but was wondering if there would be any benefits of seeing a Lupus specialist who seem to be based in London? I have read that Prof David D'Cruz is very good in treating Lupus patients. Could anyone recommend him or an alternative specialist? My rheumatologist seems to only want to offer me hydroxychloroquine but not really sure if this will help with fatigue?

Would a Lupus specialist be able to offer me alternative help in fighting the fatigue and aches and pains?

Look forward to receiving any help or advice anyone could possibly give me.

Thank you :)

Fiona

Welcome to LUpus Patients Understanding & Support (LUPUS) at HealthUnlocked, Fiona!

I recommend Dr David D'Cruz, who is the Director at St Thomas' Hospital Lupus Clinic, London.

If you have private insurance, Professor Graham RV Hughes is THE specialist in the world. He is at the private London Bridge Hospital Lupus Clinic, London. However, the waiting list is very long. Hughes (the antiphospholipid antibody) Syndrome is named after him.

Dr David D'Cruz was trained by Dr Hughes and both are at the London Bridge Hospital.
