"Hazy" CT scan

Hi,Has anyone had this?

My oncologist said there was no sign of anything nasty on my recent quarterly scan.

But there was this haze. She checked I felt ok (I do) then moved on

I will follow this up with my GP but it would be useful to know if anyone has any knowledge of similar.

Many thanks

I would be reassured by your oncologist, however it might be helpful to have some further clarity on what it could be.

Haziness in a CT scan can be flecks of increased density which is a description of the image on the scan and not a diagnosis in itself. If you feel well, as in no chest infection, this may be rechecked in 3 months.

It would be good to discuss this with your GP or your lung cancer nurse specialist.

If you would like to discuss anything further you can email ask the nurse at lungcancerhelp@roycastle.org or call the nurse on our free phone helpline on 0800 358 7200 Monday to Thursday 0900-1700 and Friday 0900-1600

Kind regards
