My latest very sad news

I posted on here quite some time ago. My beloved husband had been on immunotherapy (Keytruda) for lung cancer. He was doing so well - until he developed meningitis and was taken off the programme. He was out on steroids. He was observed and had MRI scans. Six months later he went on to chemotherapy. It was not successful and knocked him back. Two years down the road with cancer he began to suffer extreme pain in his spine. The cancer had spread to the spine and to his brain. He was discharged from care at the hospital and began palliative care at home. I was shocked and distressed at how rapidly he deteriorated and distraught at how much pain he was in. He lost the battle on the 14th December and died in my arms in our home. You are see what the prognosis is but you are never prepared. I am numb. My heart goes out to others in here going through the battle.

I am so sorry to here of your huge and painful loss, know you both tried and know you could not do more then you already did, never live with should have, could have and would have, as they are all the past.What you did, is be by his side at his very time of need, keep strong and treasure your moments, this is what will keep you going and keep you smiling, the love between you, will always be, know he passed on, a happy husband as he had a loving wife. So sorry to hear the sad news. I know exactly how you must be feeling as I lost my wonder husband 18 months ago from secondary lung cancer which went to his brain. He also went downhill rapidly & scarily after chemo. He died in my arms too. I can’t really offer any advice as I’m still struggling to cope. Good morning Yellowtulip. My heart goes out to you, because I have been down that road back on 18th December 2019. We were told that Cancer is Palliative some times but they try using chemotherapy and radiotherapy and in my opinion they prolong the suffering. You will find it hard at times and have days of dispare,but that's ok. Just remember to take time for yourself and remember that your husband will be with you in your heart forever.

Thank you so much John and to everybody else who was so kind in replying to my news. I am numb at this time and so very lonely without my beloved husband of forty two years. I know so many of you have been down this grief stricken road before me but I know too that there are many positive stories also thankfully. I just have to keep taking the smallest steps forward at this moment. I wanted to say thank you to everyone for their kindness and thoughts at this time. I am very grateful. x
