So today was my husband's third chemotherapy. He's coping well with very few side effects. The staff are lovely and care for both of us.
This week is also the selling of the car as he's not allowed to drive for at least two years and I don't drive. I'm sure many years will be shed but we have to be realistic.

Thanks for asking. Especially when you are in a much worse situation. I'm really struggling with the whole situation. He usually looks after me and so we're adapting how we live around our daily needs. Internet shopping for groceries definitely helps. Please feel free t message me if you need someone to talk to. M
Sometimes its nice to talk to someone else .it gives you something else to think about .internet shopping is good i do that a lot .i find it alot easier dave has a bath lift .to help him in and out i used to take it out all the time for me to get in but lately ive been useing it my self .press a button i go down press the other i go up .just picture a 62 year old playing on a bath lift its not a good sight 😂 life isn't good for eather off us at the moment. But we can't turn back the clock so we have to put the smile on our face and get on with it. Dave hasnt got much concept off time at the moment so quite often im up with him in the night we have a cup of tea and watch rubish tv .but its nice he seems calmer then he has a lot off mood swings .glad things is ok with your husband and the chemo message me anytime x carol
I have had a bath seat for many years, it's better than not having a bath at all but you can't really have a good long soak! You seem to be a good couple.
Today we actually have had sunshine so went out for a walk around our home. He did really well and enjoyed being out.
Thats nice its been lovely .today daves very unsteady on feet .he just went to get a paper tuesday and he fell and had to be brought home .we had a nurse and doctor come to day from the palitive care team .they have said to up his steriods again to 6 milligrams . we only just cut down to 2 for 5 days she asked him lots if questions but his very confused she is going to put in place everything like the nurse that can come in if i need a break and if he needs a nurse at night so that when the time comes it will be easier for us .and to actually have some one you can phone and ask if your worried about something is really good .i had a bath board when i had a hip replacement. But the lift is is good .when your husbands next treatment how many is he having xx carol
Hope the increased steroids helps. Good that you're getting help but are you getting support? G is down to 1mg although he's had 8mg for a couple of days for the chemo. He has his final and fourth chemotherapy in just under three weeks.
I bet you can't wait .forthe chemo to end are you going to have a break after .the doctor thinks they took dave off to quickly he went from 12 milagrams to 2 in 2 weeks .he had been on them for 8 weeks before they started to wean him off .so hopefully the increase willmake a difference in his balance and walking .x carol
That does seem a quick reduction. G was always on a strength for a week or two before the next reduction. He's been on 1mg since last Friday and next Friday goes down to 0.5 for a fortnight.
Yes we're hoping to get away somewhere for a few days when the chemo finishes.

Being unable to drive is can result in a loss of independence. I am not sure where you live but if your husband is in receipt of Personal Independence Allowance or Attendance Allowance some areas offer a MyBus service.There is different criteria in each area so I am unsure if he would fulfill it. I will attach a link for Scotland and you might want to inquire if there is such a service in your area.

Thanks but not in our area. However he did get his free bus pass for being unable to drive and I get one for PIP. It is very helpful as it would cost £10 to get us to town and back which is a short distance.
My husband had to sell his car 2 months you do miss it but my free bus pass help ive had nine since i was 60 and daves got the fredem one .xx
Well we aren't 60 yet! He's already planning where we can go, thankfully our local bus takes us to the bus station and from there we can explore all of Scotland.
Buy the way im 62 and my husbands 73 and theres nothing wrong with a bus pass 😂😂x
