Hi everyone, my father died at 48 of lung cancer. I have been having a really bad cough, pain under right shoulder blade. Bad cough. CT clear, but pain on chest, cough and under shoulder getting worse. Doctors talk of anxiety, I am 40. Not anxious, apart from my health at The moment that is. I want to get involved with lung cancer. Support , how can I do it, what can I do - to learn and to support, I want to give comfort and get comfort.

Thank you so much for your reply, I will certainly look up those links and see how I could get involved. I know there is a organisation called Cancer council, but they seem to be too commercial if that makes sense. I did get a second opinion, I have seen just about every specialist under the sun. No one tells me what the pain and consistent cough is. I am starting to feel like I am imagining it. Thank you.

I first would see a chiropractor. Many may scoff at this idea, but the pain could be made worse by the cough, which in turns, knocks around our vertabrea and nerve endings like crazy. A simple adjustment could possibly help and then you can go from there if pain and cough continue. It certainly can't hurt. I do have stage4 lung cancer, tumor on right side and the pain is worse with the cough, pain coming under right shoulder blade like yours. Chiropractic Care is no cure, of course, but can relieve symtoms quite a bit. Just a suggestion....maybe just look into it.

Hi Darlenenow, I am so sorry about your diagnosis it is such a cruel disease, and the more I read the more I see how it does not discriminate. It gets the young and old, smokers and non smokers, males and females. I also read the stories and the fighting spirit of those who have got this disease and it really is inspirational. How long ago were you diagnosed? Also thank you for the suggestion, seeing a chiropractor sounds like a good idea, I will give it a go. 😁

I was diagnosed in January of 2016. I was given 1 month traditional chemo infusions and now I am currently taking 30 mg gilotrif, a targeted therapy, ive been taking for about 15 months, I di receive prescr pain meds although at times it really is the chiropractic adjustment that can help so much.

I, too, lost my father 16 yrs ago to lung cancer snd more recently, my mother, 79 to cancer, only a month after my own diagnosis.

I do wish you well and hope you are able to receive pain relief, as that is surely one thing that can make dealing with any illness more difficult.
