Skin itch any advice lung cancer

Over a year ago my mum was complaining about itchy skin on legs and torso. After various lotions and potions they eventually sent her to undergo uv treatment to dissipate itch. She finished her treatment in January. It was about 21 sessions. The itch went away. She does have a non related rodent ulcer at her temple. Non malignant. She was diagnosed with lung cancer march 22nd (yet to start her treatment). The itch has returned. Can anyone advice if this is a symptom with cancer? Any guidance welcomed. I think it looks blistery like eczema. Thanks in anticipation of your response and assistance.

I am sorry to hear that your mum is suffering from a skin condition, itching can be very can be very uncomfortable and irritating. It is usually just a temporary problem but there can also be a more serious underlying problem. Below is a link to NHS 24 which gives some explanation of the causes of itching.

Hello ams, I have had lung cancer (all clear now) but after the chemo my skin went dry , itchy and thin. I have now got some moisturiser from my doctors, which you can also by over the counter. The lotion is Aveeno. it is suitable for eczema skin too.

Hi ames 16, I suffer from the same small blisters under the skin and use diprobase which is a heavy moisturiser but it takes the itchiness out of the skin within minutes of putting it on. If her skin feels hot perhaps benydryl, an anti histamine might help. As with all medications please check with your medical adviser first. I also use Aveeno products which are very good.
