Hello Lisa

There is a lot of variation between hospitals. He may have contact between cycles with his Lung Cancer Nurse or perhaps one of the chemotherapy nurses. Generally the hospital will advise if he is experiencing any reactions and these persists he should make contact with the chemo unit. So if you have any concerns do contact them,

Ok thank you. He has a burning sensation under his armpit, do u think that could be down to the chemo? Every symptoms he has is a worry snd he is so head strong.

This is not a symptom we are familiar with, it may be worth having a conversation with the chemo or lung cancer nurse. I understand it can be difficult when your dad is independent and you neither want to over or under react.

If reassurance would help him and you, it is worth a call,

best wishes

My partner didn't really get any contact from Macmillan in between chemo sessions - he had the same type of cancer - but when he became ill with an infection then they did start to help and of course later on in his care. Ask for support if you need - most definitely and they are there for you too........x

Hi my dad was diagnosed with stage 4 nsc lung cancer last July. He had 4 sets of chemo and had visits from district nurses and still does. His last chemo was nov last year which shrunk the tumour. He gets scans every 3 months now and is doing great considering. Keep your dads spirits up and keep him positive as I really think that's helped my dad. Hope this helps x
