Good luck at the doctors office. Probably, hopefully, it's just a chest cold. (I know, a chest cold can turn serious, but I said "just" because after lung cancer, a cold is just something to keep an eye on)

It’s so very normal to think about cancer anytime we get an ache or a cough. From your description you’re probably right. For those of us that have had radiation a cold can turn into pneumonitis so you are smart to stay on top of this.

Happy to hear your appointment went well. I totally understand the fear, it's something I think we all experience.

It's natural to think it's the cancer returning but I've had so many chest infections in the last 8+ years since my lobectomy and some have resulted in being hospitalised but thankfully none have been the cancer. Chest infections can be particularly nasty after lung cancer which is why they recommend 'flu jab (although you can't have it if you're already sick) . Allergies/sensitivities in airways for me have changed considerably - I no longer wheeze/sneeze at pollen for example (evidenced by the recent skin tests I had) but can be set off by air quality, temperature extremes, cats, perfume, vaping smoke. I found the book ' cancer is a word not a sentence' by Dr Rob Buckman really helped me put the cancer and other symptoms into context. hope you recover quickly.

So glad you are okay. Your fears are totally valid, and something I think all of us go through when something changes. It is perfectly okay to check with your onc or primary about anything that changes - better to be safe than sorry. I had the usual 36 rounds of rads to each breast and a megadose of rads to a lung tumor (all primaries, no mets) The result is that I am much more prone to pneumonia. The onc prefers I check it out than try to get through it on my own. Did tell me though that usually yellow/green junk is an infection and it is more concerning when the junk that comes up is clear. Hope you can get the allergies under control - folks are saying this is one of the worst years for allergies.

Praying you are on your way to better health!
