My latest CT scan showed on of my ribs that was broken during the removal of my bottom right lobe to be suspicious of metastasis factor..I don’t have a doctors appointment until next Wednesday..Does that mean I have bone cancer?..Has anyone had this show up?

As hard as it is, you need to wait till your next Dr's appointment. No one here can say yes or no. It is entirely possible more tests such as an MRI or. PET scan may be ordered. All Best Wishes, judg69

I understand..I just had a PET scan 2 months ago

I truly feel your angst, but judg69 is right, no one here can give you answers. All we can do is offer moral support while you wait to see the doctor. Maybe call the doctor's office to see if you can get in any sooner? I can tell you that less than a month after my upper right lobe removal last year, I started having issues. Oncologist sent me for a CT scan, the radiologist saw the bruising on my remaining lung and decided that my cancer could have metastasized, that a new large tumor could not be ruled out. He recommended a PET scan. He had me absolutely terrified. My oncologist, my thoracic surgeon, and my primary care all looked at the scan, and all agreed it was normal bruising and simply a part of healing process. So try not to let the radiologist who read the report scare you, wait until you talk to the doctor.

One of the toughest skills I have had to learn more of is patience since I first started my 'journey' in Oct 2010 - waiting for scans, waiting for results, 'watchful waiting' on annual scans after my surgery in Dec 2010, waiting for tests after various hospital stays for chest infections/respiratory viruses - somehow we have to distract ourselves with life and better things - otherwise the stress/anxiety can become all consuming and lead to other health issues. Agree with other comments - try not to think about it. I found the following book really helped me stressing about things and put it in context ' cancer is a word not a sentence' by Dr Rob Buckman. Try and deal with the 'known what is' rather than spending precious time and emotional worry about the 'what if'. good luck.

Yes, had same thing, showed up 6-9 months after lobectomy, it healed, no cancer metastasize.

My ribs were breaking due to steroids, chemo and radiation making my osteoporosis very acute. It’s scary not knowing.

This is when it might be a good idea to practice meditation or tackle some of the easier chores you’ve put off.

It occurred to me my PET/CT may produce misleading results. On July 26 I was in an auto accident. The airbag deployed into my center chest with considerable force, causing contusions. Although the pain is greatly reduced now, I wonder if signs of damage may confuse the results of scan. Of course, the radiologist & my surgeon will know about the contusions & I hope can sort things out properly.

There’s a strong probability you’re right! When are you due for your PET/CT? Is this a regular follow up? Give your doctor a call and ask if it needs to be postponed. I’d be interested in reading how your test comes out.

Thanks for reminding me, Denzie. I'll call the doctor Monday about this. The severe pain has gone, but I guess there still could be some changes from the chest contusions.
