Tarceva issues with scalp

Anyone have issues with your scalp? Mine is very sore, red and scabby???

I went searching on another site where I know there is a list of Tarceva side effect Buster's. Here is what has been collected from other patients:

"Scabs on Scalp – Zinc Shampoo DHS (script)

Itchy, Bleeding Scalp – Ciclopirox 1% Shampoo (script), Capex Shampoo (script) Olux Foam Shampoo (script)

Use shampoos and conditioners formulated for sensitive skin. Wash every other day or less. Avoid products with alcohol."

To sum up: tell your oncologist! S/he may know of a prescription shampoo that may be helpful.

Thank you for your response, I do have a number of shampoos that you are talking about, hopefully they will start to work along with the strong antibiotic I'm on.

Yes Tarceva does to have sore scap. I just changed from head & shoulder to Teatree shampoo & conditioner a month ago ,it seems my scap is no longer having the pimple liked irritation . I am on Tarceva since 2012 Feb. I tried a lot of shampoos since I’m on Tarceva ,same as the itchiness & dry skin proble.

Please try the organic tea tree shampoo. I had the same problem for many years until 2 months ago I starting to use the tea tree shampoo , since then I have’nt had any issues. Good luck .
