[SICKOF]

i have an unexplained rash all over my body including my arm with lymphodema. i had a biopsy yesterday but results wont be back for two weeks. my arm is swollen which is usual for me but some of the spots have started to ouze clear fluid, can i have some advice please im getting worried

Hi,

I'd get down to A&E straight away to get it checked out. Sounds like it could be cellulitis and if it is they will probably need to give you IV antibiotics.

thanks, it was leaking yesterday when i had the biopsy done but the nursing staff just gave me a tissue, they didnt seem alarmed at all

The fluid could be lymph - not sure why you had to have a biopsy? Is the rash red and hot to the touch? Do you feel under the weather? River83 gives sound advice - might be worth a trip to A&E. Where are you? Can you access your lymphoedema clinic first thing Monday morning and ask advice?

i bet you are!

if the rash is all over, i would have thought it's less likely to be cellulitis - there'd be no reason why you'd get cellulitis on areas of your body where the lymphatic system's working ok

& as the others have said, with cellulitis you'll get a temperature & the flu'ey feeling - altho everyone's different

d;you know why they did a biopsy, what they're looking to rule in / out?

sorry, hard to give any useful advice with not enough info, but i agree with the others that a&e's the best place to go

& if you're not sure whether it's cellulitis, take all your compression garments off so you're not encouraging it to spread
