Has anyone else had to get rid of clothes they used to wear pre lymphoedema?

Because of lympho in left arm, have had to get rid of certain clothes and can not bear to part with some others. Now have to wear a size 20 coat, when real size is 16 - 18. Upsetting. Also not many places to buy masectomy bras.

Definately understand. My lymphodema is at its worse at my elbow and upper arm, so all upper garments. coats etc can not be bought "off the peg". Times of the year it is worse ie when its very cold or very hot so clothes to acommodate both. Chain stores for bras are a nightmare, frumpy and not supportive. I still go to specialist mastectomy wear as I find the support is better and shop when sales reductions are on. Although the cost is more I find that overtime they work out cheaper in terms of comfort, fit and style

I also have left arm/hand lymhoedema and wear an armsleeve and glove. I have to check that leather gloves will fit over it. I avoid sleeveless tops/or wear a wee cardigan with summer frocks. I got some OK everdaywear mastectomy bras in M&S but like boobilicious I generally wait for the specialist shop sales if I am looking for something a bit more special. Good luck with finding garments that fit you and look nice......it can be an uphill struggle.

I have a huge arm (Also 2 huge legs) and I have to have tops in a massive size to fit the arm in - I have a tiny bust and waist - so look daft in these voluminous tops!!!! So I do sympathise.

I do feel for you. I now have an almost empty wadrobe! I found a top that fits me - i bought 5 of the same in different colours, at least they are comfortable. (Polyester and lycra) I also bought sleeveless cardigans because I find the cardigan sleeves are too tight pressured/tight.

My wardrobe was empty until I decided to take dressmaking classes so I could make trousers to fit my massive right leg and buttock. I had absolutely no experience but managed to pick it up within a couple of months and now my wardrobe is full of unique perfectly fitting trousers. I recommend anyone to give it a go, it is much easier than it looks and a great hobby.
