What a waste.

Does anyone know of a charity etc that can use unwanted compression stockings? I have hundreds, some used and some new ones too.

My Lymphadema clinic do not know of any charity. It seems such a waste to disgard them. I have seen a documentary many years ago where they were being used, in some very poor area of Africa. So there must be some info out there.!

Thanks . Nel

Lymphoedema International Health and Development Awareness will take them! You can find shipping details on their website: lihda.org

This is brilliant news! Do you have experience of them? are they active in the UK? I've had a look at their website, it looks from spellings like a US organisation. Anyway, thanks for the info. I'll check with my specialist nurse to see if she knows of them - she has 300 or so of us on her books, between us we must discard a lot of support garments that could be of use.

Thanks for this Lynora, I'll definitely pass the info on to my specialist nurse, and I will use it myself for unwanted garments.

LYNORA I have just been diagnosed with lymphodaema and waiting for an appointment to have a sleeve, would any of the new ones help me?? There’s obviously a lot to learn as I’ve seen something about a pod that can help us!

Are you in the UK? Are you using circular knit or made to measure flat knit?

You could try accessing some of the US based Lymphedema sites - this one is based in London - or any of our US members may be able to advise??
