Sorry for the title on that other post. I guess I had a couple of things on my mind. the drain fluid relates to this post. My cat was playing with my shoe one night and accidentally snagged my leg. I had on pants, and later that evening, I noticed that my pants leg was wet. when I looked at it, I found the lymph fluid was draining out of my leg in little drops. I thought it would stop eventually. I tried putting various thing on it that I use when I have a cut, but it didn't stop. I finally had to put manuka honey on it. it stopped. But my thought was, why can't I just poke a hole in my leg and drain the fluid out? its not circulating through my body, its just sitting there in my leg. Anyone heard of draining the fluid out? Thanks.

Sadly redbirdcat44 lymph can’t be drained that way - although it may seem a good solution!

Lymph is very acidic, so if a small leak (called lymphorrhea) isn’t treated and stopped quickly, the skin surrounding the hole starts to break down (maceration) and infection can set in - cellulitis. You did well to contain it with Manuka. You are lucky not to have contracted an infection.

With lymphedema, the tissues of the affected limb are saturated with lymph fluid. It's not just floating freely unfortunately. How much easier would that be though?!?

Good job on controlling the lymph leakage. It can go on for days otherwise. I've never tried using manuka honey so thank you for that tip!
