It’s unusual, but not impossible, and should really be checked by a doctor. Are you in the UK?

I have swelling in my belly and my left hip and full leg .... I can tell when my belly looks a little pregnant... that I am holding fluid in my whole system....

What do you do when you get the bursitis in your hip. I get it sometimes and it is excruciatingly painful. Also, I have noticed the past 3 years I have a major flare up in November. Have you noticed any kind of pattern?

I am getting physical therapy right now for the bursitis. Stretching the legs helps incredibly. They tell me I should move move move so I am now sitting less at the computer. Soon will be swimming. Where ever I am when I feel pain in the hip I stop and do a few exercises. This is now a daily event, just like caring for the luymphedema. I have the pumps and they are helpful with the lymphedema. I get on my stationery bike and do 50 or 100 steps up and down and that helps a lot.

I am about to get new wraps. Have been wearing Farrows for years now but I see the one piece circaid which includes the foot and it looks lighter weight and easier to put on but I worry that it will be too long from knee to ankle on me. Anyone have this experience? I wonder if the Farrows have gotten lighter now.

I have bursitis in both hips. When I wear an all-in-one undergarment, which is tight, the legs swell up and I am just now "connecting those dots." As soon as I take off the all-in-one and get my legs up, they slim down. Am I right that the lymphedema moves around that way? I may have a pair of custom hose made to fit me as the length from under knee to ankle is 13" on me and the shortest stockings I have found are 15". The legs and foot swell up right away, especially the foot.

Contact lymphnet.org - the US Lymphedema Network for info on lymphoedema professionals - there may be a Florida based group - also lymphedemapeople.com a site for patients in the US

Yes, it can spread up into your trunk. Spreading is much less likely with Secondary LE. Spreading in Primary/congenital LE is more common. As you’re in the US its best to be assessed by a certified Lymphedema therapist/CLT which can be sourced on the NLN site Lynora gave

Hi, I used to get swelling in my lower abdomen before I got everything under control with compression and massage. My scan to assess my lymphatic system also showed the lymph spilling onto the abdominal wall (or words to that effect) so it is possible. I have secondary lymphoedema of both thighs and groin, I wouldn’t say the lymphoedema has spread, more of an over flow issue.

I wear compression shorts that go to my waist line and include trunk all massages to restrict it from happening and find that my abdomen doesn’t really swell too much anymore.

Hope this helps 😃

What is the brand name of the compression shorts?

They are made to measure (think it’s juzo that make them). X
