Microsurgery for LE in Italy

Hello

I am considering MLVA and FLLA-LVSP with Dr. Campisi and company in Italy. The results of published studies seem very good. However I am looking for some real people who have done this and to get a return on your satisfaction with the results.

Anyone out there?

Thanks in advance.

I tried a search of this site (using the magnifying glass, top right icon bar) with the word Campisi, but nothing came up related to him. You could contact the LSN direct to see if they have anyone amongst their membership who may have used the Italian team.

Hello Lynora. I saw that "law_student" had mentioned a consultation with Dr Campisi 5 years ago. Then finally he was operated on Belgium. (I think the search function is not fully working.). Anyhow maybe my question will bring up some recent experiences??

I am italian and have gone through two surgeries but not with Campisi; from what I know the results are not very satisfying (to say the least) and the post-surgery therapy is very intense and demanding. There are other options in Italy, based on more effective techniques, even if none of them is resolvant.

You may want to look into LVA surgery with Professor Furniss and his team in Oxford. I've dealt with them in relation to my Lymphie legs (Primary LE), they were excellent - very patient centred and responsible surgeons i.e. they will assess you first to ensure you're a suitable candidate for the op and properly explore risks and likely success rate for your individual situation.

I've heard very mixed reviews about Dr Campisi. Based on my research when looking at LVA for myself, he requires patients to stay for 1 month at the costly hotel local to the hospital which makes the whole affair exorbitant!! The surgery is very expensive as it is! Having spoken to those who've had LVA both in the US and with Professor Furniss and Dr Ramsden in Oxford, the usual recovery time is 2-3 weeks. At Oxford the pre-op assessment (including ICG Lymphography scan) is £650 and the surgery £17,000 (in 2016). If you want to look into this here's the link olp.surgery/procedures

Hi there canadaman! Are you happy with the results?

I suggest you click on my name of canadaman and you can read my story. Since Tatum did pass away 15 months after to unrelated, I can not say if today it would still be the same. When she had it done she was happy, but her cancer metastasized and came back. After the Genoa Italy surgery it worked up until her passing. They even helped us trying to remove her tumor when they discovered her cancer came back when Tatum did her return appointment after 6 months. Sincerely, one can't know for sure as the body could re -clog . I will never guide someone with a guarantee. I can say this for sure. It worked the whole time she lived.

Dr. Corradino Campisi performed the surgery with his Son Dr. Corrado Campisi who is also an experienced surgeon. The Dad taught the son everything and the Son is becoming as good as the Dad. Their family had our best interests at heart. The mother is involved in the practice and they went way way above to treat Tatum like she was their daughter and sister.

Beware of Nay Sayers, but take in consideration, you might only be able to perform this once. Do your research and make sure your prepared. Find out if its available where your from and seek as much info as possible.
