Breast lymphoedema

I'm new to all this, after breast cancer treatment, lumpectomies in both breasts I've had a diagnosis of Lymphodema in both breasts and I'm really struggling with it, I'm also finding difficulty in getting a sports bra that fits, (I'm quite big), any ideas please

Has your breast cancer nurse given you contact details for the various compression garment companies that make bras for lymphoedema in the breast? There are quite a few that should be able to help.

Also manual lymphatic drainage will help - mlduk.org.uk for therapists if your clinic doesn't offer it.

No she hasn't, neither has my Lymphoedema nurse, I'll ring them both and see if that gets me anywhere, thanks

When I developed it, I was given kinesiotape and shown how to apply it to my breast. It was very helpful.

Thank you, I've been shown how to tape myself up, its more the bra that's bothering me

What kind of cup size are we talking? The reason I ask is so I can tell you somewhere that goes to the right size. Quite a few places go up to a G, Debenhams do H and the occasional J, and so do Marks and Spencer in the city centre branches.

Hi, sorry to hear you have lymphedema on both breasts, where are you located?

The Royal Marsden in London has an excellent team and they offer lymphatic drainage massage and measurement. Sports bras are ok temporarily but, in the long run you

need to control the swelling with a lymphedema vest like the belisse one ( jovipak.com/ in the us and hadhealth.com/itemdetail.ph... in the UK. I ordered mine through St Christopher's lymphedema service ( a hospice and care charity next to Orpington hospital ).
