Does anyone else get phlebitis?

Hi Colby 73,

Yip suffered from both Phlebitis and Celulitis at regular intervals in the past but seem to have things under control now.Thank Goodness. I am so rigid on keeping my skin free from breaks now and take the slightest knock as a green light and deal with any broken skin faster than light itself.

It may look like i am a nutter to outsiders but they don't have to deal with the pain or the inconvenience of treatment and how long it can go on for. So if i look like the mad lady then so be it hehe.

I know it can get you down and i know how horrid it is, if there is anything i can chat about drop me a we line and feel free to off load. We all need a good ear at times.

that's one diagnosis i haven't got - i know from friends how painful it can be, though, so much sympathy to you both

it can be hard not to look mad / paranoid / overcautious with cellulitis-watch - how many people still think we're talking about dimply thighs??? & the looks i get when i get the emergency kit out & start dressing a tiny paper cut, or draw round a bruise ...

but at least i can self-manage that myself with a little emergency kit, prophylaxis, cupboards full of augmentin .... with phlebitis you're having to rely on medics understanding quickly that you do know what you're talking about & getting the scans done
