Hello.

Anyone else suffer from allergic rhinitis and allergic asthma ? What have you done or do to get relief? I am absolutely miserable and I can’t seem to figure out what to do anymore about this. I have extensive paranasal sinus disease and been waiting to get back into my ENT and to see a pulmonologist which I have never seen before, but I’ve also got anxiety and all of this that’s going on is iustkaking me feel worse and worse everyday. Suuuuuper dizzy and just feel awful.

I loathe allergies, too! There are times when I want to peel off my skin, except that wouldn’t help what’s happening inside!

The thing that’s helped me the most - but it hasn’t been fast - is Xolair. I’ve been on it 7 years and each season, I’m amazed at how much better I can do with minimal or no extra meds. And while I’m not running out to eat foods that have previously triggered anaphylaxis, the occasional small amount of nuts or English peas no longer bothers me if it slips through my guard.

I’m only rarely needing Zyrtec, even rarer needing any Benedryl. In fact, I only used Zyrtec for about 4 weeks in June (not at all during Washington DC’s normally horrid spring).

And I haven’t had an allergy-induced asthma attack since 2017 - huge for me, since I normally would have 6-10 of them a year!

Good luck!

PS - HEPA filters for a/c and heater (they make kind that can be washed monthly) and a big HEPA room filter, esp for your bedroom, maybe living room or office. (And of course, be scrupulous about getting any triggers put into plastic storage with tight-fitting lids.)

Try to get in to see a Pulmonologist or Allergist. I have had eczema, allergic rhinitis, and severe allergic asthma. There is often a progression. There are new meds that are better at dealing with these, but it takes time, patience, education, and a bit of sleuthing to discover your individual allergy and asthma triggers. Seeing a Pulmonologist or Allergist regularly can help a lot, but you need to be proactive in getting the help you need. There are a few natural remedies, but you need medical solutions. For instance, drinking coffee may be helpful in an asthma attack, but it will not keep you alive in a severe attack. Don't take that chance!

I can SO relate. I also have allergic asthma. My Dr always said my asthma gets the sinus issues going and visa versa. Came back from a Texas vacation-- so bad I was on prednisone, nebulizer and extra asthma meds. When it kept going for months I went to "Naturepath Dr." Recommended "Wobenzyme PS" to me. I take 5 tabs 3x's a day. Between meals. I got off everything except minimal asthma drugs-Flovent once a day and Singulair tabs, after taking it. My medical Dr even admitted to me that it made a huge difference. Of course I've also found an anti- inflammatory diet makes a difference also. Something else I've done when allergies hit bad. I've also told many others. EVERYONE has said it REALLY makes a difference. Use organic oregano oil drops (per preference) in a steam to inhale. Boil water, put drops in. Head over with a towel 11-14 min. This year it's been horrible with all the allergens. So have been doing it a lot.
