Have you looked into PND? (Post nasal drip). That can be a common cause of this sensation, especially in anyone with hayfever or increased mucus production.

For a while I've had a problem with feeling that things were getting stuck not in my throat but further down---especially nuts, chicken (that I'm a little allergic to),dry items, greasy, or too rich. I often have to "wash' food down with warm water. It wasn't quite acid reflux but related. "Doctor google" came up with eosinophilic esophagitis and when I talked to my pulmonologist (I have asthma and COPD) she thought it was highly likely--since I have borderline high eosinophils and my IgE is 1800. AS soon as I stop taking my 94 year old Dad to a slew of health practitioners I will go for tests . I thought it was really not that big a deal just irritating but the doctor warned me that food could get increasingly "stuck" and I'd be in the ER a lot.
