Productive cough after using inhaler(s)?

Hi there, everyone. I've been here since February but this is the first time I've posted anything. I have adult onset asthma. Diagnosed in September 2018.

I have two preventers and the albuterol and was wondering after you use your inhaler, is your cough a little productive afterwards and is it normal for that to happen? My cough is usually dry.

Thank you in advance.

Thanks for posting HappilyMarried2016! I have preventer inhaler and albuterol inhaler as well. My cough is productive usually about 20-30 minutes after I use them (especially if I am my asthma is flaring 😊).

Yes I do as well and yes it's normal. "Leukotrienes are chemicals that are released from the lungs in people with asthma, causing inflammation and increased mucus production in the airways. They also cause the muscles lining the airways to contract, which narrows the airways. All of this makes it difficult for air to get in and out of the lungs." (netdoctor.co.uk/conditions/...

See it's a good thing you can get all that excess mucus coughed up after your inhalers open up your lungs well!
