Lots of asthma medications can cause a 'racing' heartbeat. Are you measuring your pulse before & after taking it to identify a clear correlation? If there is one, I'd make a note of the readings you take & speak to your doctor about it.

Yep...I get one with Albuterol and especially when using my nebulizer which is liquid albuterol. It's also why you shouldn't use your rescue inhaler more than prescribed. If I use my nebulizer and don't get relief, I need to go to the hospital so they can monitor me when giving my another breathing treatment.

Albuterol will definitely make your heart race. My asthma got really bad and doing nebulizer treatments almost daily & rescue inhaler I wasn't sleeping, hands were shaking, and was extremely jittery. My oxygen levels were also 95-97% (according to Dr this is OK, not good but ok) I cannot stress enough to go see a pulmonologist. Changed my life, I was diagnosed with not only asthma, but emphysema/ COPD. the meds and treatment I was on was simply not working. Pulmonologist changed my meds, and I hardly touch my rescue inhaler. That's not to say I never need it, but I can now walk a block & not need the inhaler, I even danced for the 1st time in 4 yrs. SEE A PULMONOLOGIST...PLEASE
