Adding combivent for prolonged asthma flare

Hi all. New here to the group. I was recently prescribed combivent as an additional inhaler in my arsenal after a wheezing flare that has lasted over 4 weeks. I'm currently taking proair, symbicort and prednisone 20mg twice a day. I'll be finished up with the prednisone in a few days. I also had a steriod shot last week, along with a Z pack of antibiotics. The combivent seems to be helping. My question is do any of you take it regularly or just as a rescue inhaler. My dr. told me I could use it every 6 hours and my albuterol (proair) every 2 hours.
