Good morning, Starrlight How are you doing today?

I recently started a gratefulness journal where I write down 5 things I am grateful for every night before bed. I am grateful for my faith, a house to live in, my husband, my sister, and my dog. I recently went through Hurricanes Florence and Michael and it has really changed my perspective (in a good way) on gratitude. Thank you so much for posting this <3

Hello Starrlight

Two questions first is it snowing where you are and what are your earth angels ?

I am grateful for having colour in my garden all year round , took some working out but after a few years I have got there and it really cheers me up on these Winter days

Hi Lulu!!! I had an amazing day woke at around 4:00 am and now even though it’s only 10:30 I have to accept there are things negatively disturbing me but I’m trying to cast light on those and reading you I think is helpful so thank you so much my friend.

Yes it’s snowing 🌨 and I finally got a few pics of it I will post soon.

My earth angels who keep me on track in life are my children. I have three boys, ages 6, 11, and 23.

Oooooh colorful garden in winter huh... can you tell me what plants to buy then because that sounds great!!!

Thanks I am so in love with my dog 😍 she is a rescue dog and has such anxiety at times and other times she is very protectant of us, her pack ... and brave.

Thank you for clearing up what your earth angels are , what a lovely way to describe your children

Use Foliage , you can get so much or we do in the UK and yet it gets over looked , also you must have Heuchera's which come in all different colours , they stay that way all year , fantastic !

Plant some in planters they love it , I will put a Winter pic on of my garden eventually as it is amazing how you can still have colour all year round

Your lovely dog certainly got lucky with her new owner ( you ) what better person to be able to understand her anxiety , I always think things happen when they are meant to and I think when you found each other even though sad circumstances it was meant to be x

Aww I am glad about how lovely you described my dog and I being right for eachother. Yes things happen when they are meant to. I give up at times as it doesn't seem some things are meant to be... and then while we’re not looking they happen and then we see it was patience needed. I’m excited to get to out and buy some Heucheras.

I love Heucheras , there is one that is called Northern Exposure , it comes in a lovely lime green as well as a sort of orange colour , those two are two of the most hardy and take the weather but they all do even though if you get some real snow can be handy to protect them x

Yes I feel that here too! I’m cheering you on! Trying to cheer myself on and why is that so difficult?! I guess we have to get used to respecting ourselves as a habit if we want to feel acceptance ourselves and heal and move forward. Ha I needed to get that out!!! I’m so frustrated with myself today.

I'm not doing so well. I feel like a failure. I'm not a good husband or a good father. I'm at home now in west Virginia but I drive my 3 hours to Virginia where I stay in my RV for work. We have a company sponsored dinner tonight so I have the day off.

As for husband I've made a lot if mistakes. Yes they are in the past but I beat myself up for them. That makes all my thinking become distorted when I'm having a bad day and I believe that I'm bad in every way. I beat myself up over many mistakes but what I've done to my wife is the worst.

I’m sorry you are hurting Aaronm. My husband hurt me deeply years and years ago and I was angry for a while but as time heals and people change I have completely forgiven him.

Having regret means we are living in the past. Forgiving ourselves can be harder than forgiving others I think but possible as we care and are sorry and deserve to let go and move forward.
