Hello

I was exposed last September 2017 have had tests every three months and even though I had symptoms of a bad viral infection since October till March this year. What I want to know is does the virus lie dormant in the body before reactivating like the herpes virus? Or are tests now 9 months on conclusive as my whole body has changed since exposure, yeast fungal infections, dry skin and rashes on body, folicitus on scalp and hair line, swollen stomach and digestion problems, brittle ridged nails, sores on vagina though all tests come back negitive I do not understand what is happening to me. Doctors say I am clear of any infection so don't know what is wrong but something is. Anyone in a similar situation?

Tests are conclusive at 3 months.

Congratulations on your negative result, anxiety can cause havoc on your body as I know only too well, try and relax as HIV doesn't lie dormant in your body waiting to reawaken like herpes simplex (HSV 1/2) plus you would still test positive for herpes even when it is dormant in your body as you would for HIV, once infected you would produce antibodies to the virus within weeks of infection so a test at 9 months would be 100% conclusive.

If your tests are negative you do not have HIV .

If you are ill there is something else that is the wrong with you .

Other sexually transmitted diseases are much more easily caught than HIV .
