I was reading this article about stem cells and a 'cure' for CP. (I use the word cure very tentatively.)

heraldscotland.com/news/hea...

I hope one day that there will be a cure. However, my cp is part of me and would I want to change that...I'm not sure. A cure would have to improve my quality of life drastically and it would be a boring world if we were all the same. Yes, I would like to walk unaided but I have other ambitions and goals to aim for and complete.

A disability can make your life harder but there is always ways around it.

What do you think?

Interesting article.... a while ago I was having coffee with one of my closest friends and was having a 'bad cp day'. As we sat there going through our various aches and pains (she suffered a serious back injury, and we always end up comparing!) she asked if it was ever possible to have a 'cure' for cp would I have it?

It got me thinking and I would have to say I wouldn't, cp is a part of what makes me who I am. I consider myself to be lucky that I'm fairly independant and although life is sometimes a bit tough, isn't it for everybody at times for whatever reason??

I think cp has contributed to making me the determined person that I am, and anyway I've had it form birth and know no different.....
