Physiotherapy Department, Wester Hailes Healthy Living Centre,

I know its in Edinburgh but if you contact them, they might be able to put you in touch with someone local to you. I deal with them and they have been really great and helpful so far.

there is an NHS Grampian service, named Chronic Oedema Service, currently based at Woodend Hospital but with clinics in Aberdeenshire. Your GP can refer

I'm told that is only for oedema due to heart, MS or cancer.

Can lipo-lymphoedema come before Cancer & why the discrimination using Mc Millan Nurses to meet it out Why so unreasonable & undemocratic. In fact unethical & unprofessional I don't get the funding excuse . They can back up all these wars.It is questionable Maths by Treasury & not acceptable ?

Download some of the information in regards to this condition and print it out, then give it to your doctor, then they will know you are more informed about this condition, it will be harder for you to be fobbed of. This condition was recognised medically over 40 years ago and is more recognised by the medical profession than you'd be led to believe. I was told by a specialist n this area that 11 percent of woman have this condition at different stages degrees. I was also told by the same specialist, due to the vast amount of people suffering from it, there is not enough monies in the NHS to want to recognise it and treat people. This is why you need to go back to your doctor with the information you have allocated and ask her outright if she knows and could she or here refer you. Good luck.

Thanks for your reply - I have plenty info, and have very complex health issues, which can kind of complicate issues, as I get referred round and round in circles!!

You must be joking it is as much as their wage is worth as on contracts .They sold their souls to the questionable LAs holding our NHS funds questionably & with bias .It is also a gender issue .My new GPs , even the women refuse to take or examine or implement saying they are directing to manage before diagnosis & not collaborating - ignoring the NHS Constitution .I am alive now because I watch symptons & their treatment carefully but it is costing in stress, money & time !

I saw him 2 years ago but my lipolymphodeama was to advanced for lipod I am 70years old he is very nice and very straight talking. Go to your GPS tell him you wish to see Mr Munloch he will then apply to see if you can get ref.to Nine Wells for consultation hope this helps.

I gathered info and took to my doctor who in his wisdom decided my best bet was to be referred to general surgeons in Oban and yesterday met with (as it turned out her main area of expertise is in the bowls) a surgeon who I then had to convince that it was lipoedema and not lymphoedema - she had no knowledge of this condition inspite of a copy of the notes I had given to my doctor being in my records.

It has now been decided to refer me to a vascular surgeon in Glasgow

I think it will be a long journey
